As caregivers and nurturers, we often pour ourselves into others and we forget to refill our own cup. True self care is not just a luxury, it is a necessity. When you take the time to restore your own body, mind and spirit, you strengthen your ability to show up for others with more compassion, patience and presence.
Think of self care as maintenance for your wellbeing, like charging your phone or nascar drivers taking a pit stop. Without self care, even the strongest among us can burn out.

Here are 7 reminders to help you prioritize yourself:
Start small. Take 5 minutes in the morning just to meditate, breathe or stretch.
Nourish your body. Eat foods that support your energy and don’t deplete it.
Drink water. Water is essential for keeping your body hydrated, supports energy and focus, and helps every cell in your body function properly.
Set Boundaries. Say “yes” to things that move you forward. Say “no” to distractions and things that don’t serve your growth.
Connect with joy. Go for a walk, exercise, read, listen to music or a podcast. Do something every day that lifts your spirit.
Listen to your body. Don’t keep pushing yourself when you need rest- it's an act of strength, not guilt, to take time for you.
Ask for help. You don’t have to do it alone. Ask others for help, delegate where you can or hire people to assist you.
Remember, self care isn't selfish. It is self- respect
When you care for yourself, you are not taking away from others- you are replenishing the very source for your ability to care.
Take a moment today to pause and breathe. Notice how your body feels, what your heart needs, and where you can show yourself a little more kindness. Sometimes, the smallest act of care is what helps us return to ourselves.- grounded, renewed and ready to give from a place of wholeness.
